One-Day Hopi Ear Candling Diploma

Hopi ear candles are not a traditional candle but are a hollow tube made using organic cotton or flax, pure beeswax, honey extract and traditional herbs. Ear candling has become a popular therapy in the west and is used to help a wide range of symptoms, not only those associated with the ears. The treatment also engenders a relaxed state in which the body is better able to fight imbalances.

Amethyst Hopi Ear Candling treatment includes a pre-treatment pressure point massage and post treatment facial massage.

One-Day Indian Head Massage Diploma

Indian Head Massage is based on traditional Indian massage techniques. It involves work on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face using a variety of massage movements to relieve accumulated tension, stimulate circulation and restore joint mobility. Head massage revitalises the whole body, rebalancing the energy flow to the body and creating a feeling of peace and well being.

An excellent stress buster, both relaxing and uplifting, it is good for clearing the head and easing tense shoulders. Great for office workers, Indian Head Massage can be done without oil through light clothing, so is perfect for corporate work. The routine you will learn is based on the Mehta method of Indian head massage, developed by Narendra Mehta who brought the formalised treatment to the West.

Four-Day Reflexology Diploma

Reflexology is based on the principle that the feet are a map of the entire body, so that when the reflex points are stimulated, the therapist is treating the whole body not just the foot. The concept is not new, the Chinese developed the technique thousands of years ago.

Modern reflexology offers tremendous health benefits; it can help reduce stress, improve circulation, cleanse the body of toxins and revitalise energy levels. Reflexology works by stimulating the body's own healing mechanisms in order to restore balance and a feeling of well being.

This four day course comprises:

Two days to learn theory, the routine and practice technique
One day to review theory and technique + time for practice
You will be required to complete and record 20 hours of case studies i.e. treat 4 people 5 times, or 5 people 4 times.
Half a day for assessment (students have 6 months from initial training date to complete case studies and assessment)

Assessment: students have 6 months from initial training date to complete case studies and assessment otherwise you must repeat days 1&2 at further cost.

Course pre-requisites: a Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology (or equivalent eg prior therapy training at Level 3, nursing or physio training) is required. Amethyst offer a home study email course in A&P which can be studied at the same time as your Reflexology Diploma. You will need to have covered at least the first 4 units before you do the practical course. Your Reflexology certificate is not issued until the A&P is completed.

Refresher Courses

Did you train in therapies some time ago?

Not practised treatments for a while?

Are you qualified but need more confidence in your practical skills?

We offer refresher training for those of you who have qualified in therapies but need skills updating

or require more confidence to practice.

Full day refresher: you may refresh skills in up to two subjects maximum on your refresher day

(subject to tutor approval)

Half day refresher: you may refresh skills in one subject maximum in half a day's training. NB If you wish to refresh skills in Aromatherapy or Reflexology these require minimum one day each.

Please check that your tutor offers the subject you are looking for.

Course pre-requisites: you are required to provide copies of your certificates before attendance on the day. Please bring your notes for your procedure/routine so that you can refresh your treatment as it has been taught to you.

CPD points: certificate of attendance given for CPD requirements.

One Day Crystal Facial Diploma

The Crystal Facial is a treatment of the purest energies for mind, body and soul. We use rose essential oil, rosehip oil and rosewater to nourish the skin. We then combine facial massage with rose quartz crystal wands to stimulate cell renewal, heal and re-energise the skin while promoting a feeling of wellbeing.

The Crystal Facial includes:

Placing of rose quartz crystals
Double cleanse using a mild cleanser
Toning with rose water
Very gentle exfoliation

One-Day Holistic Facial Massage Diploma

Looking good starts with great skin; an Holistic Facial Massage can help your clients achieve this. During the 45 minute treatment, the gentle massage relaxes and releases the taut muscles of facial expression. Nerve endings are soothed. The complexion will look smoother, brighter and more relaxed.
